Sadly this will be the first year I am missing NYCC since it started. My wedding is the following weekend, and my wife-to-be has already threatened my life if I were to jet out to New York 7 days before our 'nuptuals.
Hope you guys have fun without me, and I'll be back again in 2014!
I got all my packing done. I'm waking up at 4 AM. So I can be at the airport at 5 AM for a flight out at 6 AM.
I'll hit the ground running in New York. My flight gets in a mere two hours before the end of the show floor set up badge / registration. That kinda sucks. I might get lucky and get there just in time, but more likely I'll have to do everything on Thursday. But that also sucks because the show floor set up time is ONLY 8 AM to 10 AM. That's just ignorant if you ask me. Granted the doors don't open until 3 PM, but still...
I assume if I can get in during that window then I can stay in. I can't imagine them turning people away.
On top of that my wife and step-daughter (who are both well-versed with NY) are planning to yank me all over the place in the sliver of time between show set up and show hours.
I'm here already. Had my first meeting today (with a lit agent). I've got another meeting tomorrow, then a signing at Forbidden Planet. Then Friday I'm a guest at the Image party, and I've got some other meetings and dinners and parties and stuff sprinkled throughout the week.
I'm here for the show... but since I'm not tabling and don't have any panels or signings, I'm hoping to completely skip the show and just do stuff around it.
I spoke to Justin for a moment, but didn't get to talk to him as much as I'd have liked.

I ran into Brandon at the Multiversity party, but didn't get to talk to him as much as I'd have liked. He needs to post stills or the Vine of the Witch Doctor cosplay he showed me.
I also spoke briefly with a lot of people not part of this forum, but who kind of orbit the goings-on here: Mel Caylo, Josh Elder, Rachel Deering, Chip Mosher from comiXology...
It was a great show, and seemed to be much better run than in previous years. But...never enough time.
