Still working on practice time with CSP, Krita, Affinity Designer, Inkscape, and Typetool. Affinity Designer's been good for greeting card design this past couple of weeks.
-
Those video workshops with TWC are on hold until after the New Year. If anyone's interested, they're being run in concert with the Sandy Hill Community Health Centre here in Ottawa. Yeah, creative writing and mental health, hand in…
-
Further thoughts: Serif is sticking with "buy once and be done" for their Affinity suite. Which I count to the good.
-
I caught one of Graphixly's webinars today. This one was about the new features available with v.1.10.5: webtoons, importing of Photoshop brushes, timelapse recording of your work as you draw, colour jitter and some of the new brush settings availab…

2020: Nothing. 2021: No clue yet.
-
Also, I've been getting comfy with Discord over the last few months. Not all the way there with the interface and toolkit yet.
-
How are you coping with Verizon's takeover of Tumblr?
-
Meanwhile, I finally got to borrow a copy of Origins of Totalitarianism from the local library and I want to give that book a proper read-through.
-
And Coles as a brand of bookstore has been effectively euthanised in Canada by IndigoSpirit. :-(
-
Lasseter got ousted in favour of Iger between 2016 and 2020, right?
-
Yep, the HTML tags still work, but gathering that not needing them is preferred.

Wondering if Facebook is good enough as an online fill-in, or are others here dissatisfied with it?
-
What further news, Jason?
-
I stumbled into creating a Slack account in the process of setting up a Zoom account this past summer of 2020. Haven't used it yet.
-
I've since handed in the HP OfficeJet 7612 for an Epson Workforce WF-7840.
-
I've since figured out what I did wrong, by the by: I had the brush size options set to display in millimetres rather than pixels. But perhaps I should not have seen that as a mistake?
-
I believe you'll be right about that.
-
Tuesdays, I've been setting aside afternoons for online writing workshops via Zoom. One of the local community centres has been networking with the Toronto Writers' Collective.
-
Got some practice time in this weekend with both Clip Studio Paint and Krita.
-
Owing to recent developments, I'm going to have to purge a lot of stuff. You might have seen some of this via Facebook or Flickr.
-
Looking forward to further news, then, Beth!
-
Funny thing: my latest "new" machine is a second-hand 2009 iMac...
-
Seconding that, Beth. We have a similar event in Ottawa, CAN-CON, mostly for prose authors. But we could stand to organize a spin-off for comics people once the Pandemic is declared over and done.
-
Seems okay so far on my iMac.
-
Corel has since started a "billing by the month" option, but they're not closing the door on "buy once and done" yet. Microsoft, on the other hand, has since gone all-in on monthly-billing.
-
Been doing daily walks in this Time of Pandemic. Owing to recent concerns from my GP, I'm doing small bits of weightlifting. Irregularly, I'm afraid.
-
Here's what I've got with the brush size options on v.1.9.11 at the moment: (Image) Brush sizes should be going up to 2000 px, right?
-
Finally made the choice to drop back in more fully tonight. I've got a question re: Clip Studio Paint that I should probably post in the Toolbox section.
-
The HP 7612 scanner components are still doing the job.
