Happy New Year! Looking back at 2023: How did your year go? I didn’t get a lot of actual writing done. I spent most of the year organising various manuscripts. But I got back in the habit of daily drawing.…

(Image) This is the first sketch of a new character for Tedieval. I just need to practise it a bit more so that I can get the shapes just right.

Thursday - Page 2 - P3 - set up layers and reference picture.

Wednesday - Page2-P2-all layers complete.

I'm pretty sure that I am dropping out of the art show. I want to focus on getting comics done and the art show is going to take time away from that. Old me would have forced myself to get all of it done, but it would have been at a detriment. I rea…

I was going to start posting in here again and then things got busy. They are possibly even more busy, but now I guess I'm back to working on comics? I needed a break from working on my Dad's novels for a little bit this year and I needed t…

It's super sketchy but it's the style I want for the comic.

Again, a long time goes between posts. Let me try this whole posting an image here... (Image)

Wow, it's been a bit since the last time I checked in. So far, the split work day has worked out as there has been slow progress on the projects that I am working on. Right now, my main focus is Tedieval. At the moment I am doing a characte…

Okay. I'm still holding firm on the idea that some of my comics are going to have to take a back seat while I focus on new comic and novel projects. However, Rosecity Comicon really made me feel good about continuing to work on comics. I ju…

Warning: Rambly, Thinking Out Loud Post I have to come to terms with the fact that Isaac & Lee is a flop (this isn't me being down on myself, this is me being a realist). Also, I'm getting to a point where I want to/need to work on othe…

Now to get ready for Rose City Comic con. The only event that I've ever tabled at where I won't be selling anything, instead, I'll be promoting my websites and online store. :D
-
Funny you should ask! I sold out of two of my dad's books and the sketch cards were a big hit (as always!) Because I was sharing a table with two other people, it was a bit cramped for the amount of work I had on hand. But I did very well a…

Thanks! Fan Expo was kind of a two-in-one sort of thing, where I was offered to share a table with an author who was with the same publisher as me/my Dad. So it was one of those things where it was not only an opportunity to table at Fan Expo, but a…

Conventions, Comics, Writing and Publishing Well I just got accepted to Rose City Comic Con! With the PanelOne Show in October (and add in Canadian Thanksgiving), it means I'll be travelling every 2-3 weeks until Mid October! &…

Ok, so my return to the forum comes at a timely moment. I just finished a half-cross country trip to visit my mom to check in with her to make sure that she is okay in dealing with the loss of my Grandma (her mother of 99 years) earlier this year. S…

Okay then! This is working so I'm going to start using it again!

My webcomics have announced their hiatuses (is that the plural?) and I'm almost ready to be able to get back into working on comics (I'm probably about a month out). Although I am dabbling in a few of them right now. I was organizing my s…

I finally finished The Tedieval page which means now I am back to working on scripts and editing novels. I've announced a hiatus on both webcomics in order to finish scripts and to maintain my lead time while I throw a third webcomic into t…

(The previous post didn't post) So this week, I managed to quickly sketch out a rough for what will be the last page of Tedieval. I did this when I was supposed to be working at my day job, but I really just needed to get it sketched out an…

I finished up the Tedieval page. It was a slog, just because of the way I was creating the page but now I just have two pages left and then I'm done that story. Which means that I can get back to working on scripts

Okay, I finished up Grotto over the weekend, along with finishing another page of Tedieval. I now am stoked to be able to finish Tedieval. My only issue right now? Is that there are two pages left and I have to recreate them from scratch. But if I k…

Yesterday I realised why I was struggling with a page so much. It wasn't fun, it wasn't dynamic and it wasn't exciting. So I began reworking it and I've found the coolness.
-
Yesterday I set up the last page for Grotto. I also realised how far behind I am with Tedieval. So I'm going to finish off Grotto and then focus on finishing Tedieval. I'm going to keep updating here now so that I can maintain my focus.

I was distracted last week. But I am now working from home, which means that I need to step up the discipline and get work done.
-
@DinoCaruso I am! But I won't be in Artist Alley, (I don't think so anyway), I'm sharing a table with a couple of other authors, one of whom has been doing the show for so long that she's had her table grandfathered in (or so she tells me).

Okay, I'm getting back to working on comics after the insanity. What insanity you ask? That would be back when I asked my Dad's publisher if I could use the print rights to do a hard copy of his book. At that time he reverted all …

@Craig_A_Taillefer and @DinoCaruso , are either of you thinking about Fan Expo in Toronto this year?
-
We are mostly all just poking our heads in here. Justin still posts his writing, and when I'm not working on editing novels I'm posting my comics progress. Basically, what @DinoCaruso said. Although, I'd love to post more here.

I finished up one page and then found out that I only have 10 gigs of space left on my hard drive. With an average of 1 gig per page... I'm going to need a bigger boat.
