trying to get back into sketching regularly, and making use of a gift [a 12 colour pocket Koi water colour set]. Did a couple sketches of my partner Ange...
I've been doing stuff lately with photos to tell a story, and it's pretty fun. Not the same as looking at a great page of artwork, for sure, but also an art style of it's own.
Here's a page from the comic, which will be updating in the next few weeks:
@ShawnRichison: Thanks, glad you enjoyed it. Yeah, it's tricky to play 3 characters in the same page - and somehow have them all interact. There are other pages with better examples of interaction specifically, but overall I'm really happy with the way the photo pages are coming out for this particular story.
here's some artwork from the second installment of the comic i am creating with writer curt pires. the first installment can be read and bought in print here
Page 4 of chapter 1. Coming along quite nicely, I think; a definite level up for me as an artist. Then again, this is fresh from the scanner and I might hate it tomorrow.
This was hard work. Lots of fiddly design details from Marc's rendering of the church and the vicar, and my own style is more detailed anyway.
The acid test, of course, will be to see how these pages look once they've been inked.
Remastered (meaning adding 2 panels) an old page to get a more European layout
I wonder however if I should have the text of the Doge in the second to last or the last panel. No matter what solution, I'll end up obscuring a nice bit of art.
did some pencils for the cover of Act 2 tonight - trying out different placements for the layout. Kind of excited, act three is going to be a blast to draw. Shorter which is nice. also, sex scene at the end...:) and some really insane shit in the middle. goodie goodie...
