Jason, this is a nice look for you. if this is close to the "final" look, you may want to lighten the grey, to give it a bit more contrast and punch. right now it tends to flatten a bit.
Yeah, I'll go with a lighter gray; I just didn't want it to look like someone was shining a spotlight on them by using pure white, because the whole point is that the scene is in darkness. (There's some car headlights later on that will be white.)
posted these over on my thread, but this is the sketchbook work I've been up to (really want to make sure that I have a sketchbook put together for the next con season to sell at my table). I'm also working on Lil Charlie stuff and THAW at the moment (and while FFTT has taken a bit of a break, Kevin and I are getting our ducks in a row to get it going again).
I also have a Kuretake brush pen. I still need to fill in the billboards, signs and building logos, but that will be in the lettering stage in Photoshop.
Russell's shown a few of these on FB, so here's another. From the eight page short One Last Thing. I had a block of time, so I could knock this out without taking too much time from Not Wrapped Tight, but now I have to get back to it.
As you can see, I've got quite a ways to go if I'm going to get back to pen/brush and ink.

(Was sick all day -- still sick, actually -- but I had to do something to commemorate the day -- about two hours in Photoshop).
Hope y'all dig.
