And don't get disappointed if you don't get a response. There are more writers than artists at this site. But stick around and contribute... and there are writers here who might be able to suggest artists or additional places to go to look for them. Justin is currently hogging up about ten of them at the moment I believe
I'm looking for a collaborator for a new creator-owned book. Here's the short pitch:
Title: ALL TOMORROW'S PARTIES. A man finds he has the ability to jump through time. He uses this power to attend all of history's greatest parties. But he's not doing it for fun – he's doing it in honor of his late friend, whose last wish was for his wake to be “one big party”. A time-traveling adventure/comedy about life, death and friendship.
I'm offering co-ownership of the book, plus a 60-40 split of future royalties (in the artist's favor). We'd put together a pitch package and shop it to publishers. Failing that, we might then consider digital distribution/Kickstarter/something else, depending entirely on how the artist feels about it.
Who am I? Just a dude, trying to change the world through thinkin' and typin'. I had a GN published a few years ago, but I've been away from the comics world for a little while.
Interested in working with me? Let's make something awesome. xanderbennett@gmail.com

I used to hang out over on Whitechapel back in the day, and I recognize a lot of names here. So I'm not so much a new face as a... lapsed face? Anyway, off to the Introduction thread I go.
I recently came across an opportunity some artists here may want to take advantage of. It's not my own project but thought a few here might be interested in it.
Rules and regs wise, is that cool to post in here?
Alrighty then, I recently 'connected' (as good a term as any) with writer Jay Kirk on Twitter (he wrote an article I came across when doing research). He's written non-fiction for GQ, Harpers, The New York Times Magazine and The Nation and his novel Kingdom Under Glass is pretty well regarded too.
In our brief chat he twigged I wrote comics and asked if I knew any artists who'd be interested working with him on a graphic novel concept he has.
Jay can be contacted at jaykirk@comcast.net and he's open to any style/tone.
Well, sadly much of what prompted this has fallen through so, never mind! least not for the moment. Least it led me to making a few new contacts.
Ok, So this is a feeler post.
It's serious, but i have to be cagey about most of it, it concerns things i can't really post publicly yet, but think I need to start looking around now rather than leave it last min, if I want to find the best collaborators.
I have a couple projects coming up over the summer, that i might be in the market to bring in some collaborators on. For sure if they both happen.
Larger things, not epic but biggish. Planed as professional paying gigs.
One would be in the 62 page ball park, is looking very good to happen but the ink has still not dried and NDAs and all so no talky much. But clients are very confident, and might want more faster than i can do solo. It would be a summer gig, probably like 4 months? Very cool story. Most likely strait WFH or contract based for the team.
The other is possibly open ended but initially a 30 page or so deal. Dark. Genre. Creator owned but depending on how our plans resolve i might just bring the players in there as contractors too, for a decent price. Depends on what we end up doing and how in terms of the collaborations? It's an independent venture so things are more flexible anyway.
Jobs that will need doing: pencils over my layouts, collaborating on layouts, colouring maybe, lettering?
Looking for people who's work would mesh well with mine of course? In an ideal world someone i can play catch with rather than have it be "me tell you make this mark!"
But at the very least, work that's not too divergent from the kind of things i do drawing wise.
again If all goes ideally it will be paying work, though can't say how much yet at all.
But this won't happen really at all if it's not. Not with me anyway.
If you're serious drop me a line by email! If you have rates already include those for sure.
So ... as anyone who's followed my Worklog knows, my artist on Eastsiders recently had to bow out due to other commitments. I know we mostly have writers here, and the few artists that are active tend to be very booked, but I figured it made sense to reach out to my fellow SW homies even as I'm filtering through questionable-quality submissions from Digital Webbing and PencilJack.
ANYWAY
I'm looking for an artist to do pencils and inks for an eight-page story that will double as its own pitch and for that of an ongoing series. The concept is basically "Angel" meets "The Wire," and takes place in London's East End, so not only must you be a proven storyteller, you must be able to render the real world (streets, buildings, cars, clothing) convincingly and in appropriate settings/mood, regardless of your "style."
I have full scripts, character designs and a bible plotting out six issues' worth of stories ready to go. I'm looking for a pro who can commit to deadlines and a potential future series. This person would be a COLLABORATOR, not just a hired gun.
That said, I am paying a per-page rate for inked line-art for the initial eight pages. Turnaround on the eight pages will be six weeks from date of agreement. If a series gets picked up, we can renegotiate the page rate in exchange for co-ownership and a piece of the back-end, but I don't work for free and I'd never ask a collaborator to do so.
You can read more about Eastsiders in the Worklog, as well as see where the bar's been set as far as artistic style/quality. DM me here or email me at pjperezvegas AT gmail DOT com if you're interested. Or please tell your artist friends. I trust you folks and your opinions, and I'm sure anyone you referred would be a better suggestion than the randoms I'd otherwise pick up.
I'm happy to (try) to answer any questions here, as well.
EDIT; I can't really afford to pay for an artist right now, nevermind.
Not really sure what reaction I'll get, but figured it couldn't hurt.
I'm looking around for an artist for a project I'm working on, writing but not drawing. It's a P.I./70's espionage influenced, story and atmosphere-wise.
What I'm looking for is an artist and letterer, a partner for the project that I'd like to pitch.
Contact me, either through here or at costakout@gmail.com, and we can work out specifics.
Need an inexpensive, but good colorist that I can trust to color 3 pages for a Dark Horse pitch. You don't necessarily have to go on to do the regular series. Get back to me with rates!
Max, I simply need more than one book in the pipeline.
I have several stories on the back burner -- none near completion (or even started in some cases).
But TIME has always been my worst enemy. I'm such a hands-on guy that I want to do it all (write, draw, letter, color, et.). Also, I've fallen behind on my core books so much that I need to get a good jump on those before any extra books. At this point, I'm not sure anyone would believe me if I wanted to do more than one title when I can hardly get one series done.
Jimmie, I think its going to require that you write, find someone good, and then let go. And yes, I know you're going to tell me that you know this and have trouble doing it. But that's what its going to take. Find someone with strong technique, so that even though the result varies from your mind's eye, you can rely on the underpinnings being strong. Bear in mind that you'll have less time invested, which of course is the point.
He's working on a licensed book at a major publisher that had an artist drop off. They're looking for a darker/edgier style-- nothing cartoony, not quite Marvel/DC house styles.
The good: 1) Major publisher, major license. Big opportunity. 2) Paid gig. 3) The writer is an awesome fellow.
The stressful: 1) 22 pages of penciled sequentials for six months, starting as soon as humanly possible.
If you're interested, drop me a line and I'll pass your info along to the creator.
Posted this just now: a Collaborations page on the Robot+Monster site (as opposed to Submissions; being just one dude, that came off a little Darkseid-y to me. "Submit to Josheid! I am the marmot-force at the core of all things!" etc.).
Artists looking to partner with me on my Top Cow pitch submission, please e-mail me. I have 4 pitches and am looking to professional unpublished artists with strong sequential examples.
Genre would be horror / action. 8 pages, due before December.
Not that we have a lot of them floating around here (they seem to have their own forums), but I may be looking for a color assist for my webcomic/s. It would be a weekly gig paying a crappy rate, but it would be a regular paycheck, and for a decent colorist, not a lot of work. If you know anyone who might be interested, let me know.

Can anyone recommend animators that do this kind of line drawing animation? Like in this Virgin America safety video?

I'm also looking for other kind of animators for paid work with Wired Magazine. Please send me your websites/reels.
Thanks!

@JasonCopland - Thanks, man. I was worried it came off a little stiff, but I've always tried to be as straight as possible up front.
